The biggest advantage of the red, double-decker Hop-On Hop-Off bus is the freedom of movement! With a single daily ticket, you can hop on and off as many times as you like, at any stop along the route, without worrying about how to reach your next destination.
For example, you can hop off at Chromonastiri, visit the War Museum, and enjoy a coffee in the charming village squares. Then, you can board the next bus to continue your journey to Rousospiti, where you can hop off again to admire the breathtaking panoramic view.
*No need to start from the main station! You can board the bus at the stop closest to your accommodation, saving time and enjoying your tour with ease (check in our photos the map of the destinations-stops and the times).

Our Route
We start at Unknown Soldier Square and travel along Rethymno Beach, enjoying the stunning sea views. Passing through the Venetian Harbor, we reach Fortezza Castle, where you can stop and explore.
We then continue along the western coastline, passing the Old Town entrance, the Region of Crete, the Municipal Garden, and the Great Gate (Porta Guora).
From there, we head towards Rethymno Beach, the heart of summer life, passing by the ex bio-factory and reaching the Caretta-Caretta turtle nesting area, a vital natural sanctuary.
Nature & Tradition in the Rethymnian Countryside: The journey continues to Halevi Monastery, a 16th-century monastery, and then into Rethymno’s rural landscape, filled with olive groves and natural beauty. Next, we visit Mili Gorge, a lush location with old watermills, before arriving at Chromonastiri, where you can visit the War Museum and enjoy a coffee in the picturesque village squares. Our tour proceeds to Rousospiti, known as “The Balcony of Rethymno”, offering stunning panoramic views of the city and the Cretan Sea.
The final stop is at Agia Irini Monastery, a 13th-century monastery, before heading back through Prophet Elias, where you can take in a breathtaking view of Rethymno. The tour ends at Unknown Soldier Square.
