Rethymno is one of the most bike-friendly cities in Greece, featuring an extensive network of bike lanes that cover most of the city. Car traffic is limited, especially in the Old Town, where cars and motorbikes are prohibited, making cycling even more enjoyable and safe. The bike lanes provide easy and quick access to both the Old and New Town, allowing visitors to explore every corner of Rethymno in an eco-friendly and relaxing way.
The Beauty of Rethymno at Sunset
The tour begins at the Marina and Venetian Port, where the illuminated boats and historic buildings create a magical atmosphere. From there, we glide along Rethymno’s beach promenade, adorned with lit palm trees and the tranquil view of the sea, creating the perfect romantic setting.
We continue through the lively Kallithea area and the vibrant New Town, where locals gather at cafés and restaurants, filling the streets with energy. Moving on to the Old Town, you’ll ride through its narrow alleys and admire historical buildings like the Loggia, along with iconic landmarks such as the Cathedral and the Church of the Four Martyrs.
On the western side of the Old Town, known as the “window of the city,” you’ll discover one of the most breathtaking spots in Rethymno. Here, the sunset is absolutely stunning, with the sun sinking into the horizon and painting the sky in dazzling colors. This spot is also a favorite for couples, who leave padlocks as a symbol of eternal love, adding a touch of romance to the experience.
The tour continues with a visit to the Rimondi Fountain, which is even more captivating at night under the soft lights. Our tour begins at our office, where you will receive a quick 2-minute training session to familiarize yourself with the Segway. This short lesson will help you feel confident and comfortable before we start.
We start at the serene marina and Venetian Port, where the reflections of the boats on the water and the golden hues of the sunset create a mesmerizing atmosphere. This peaceful area is the perfect place to start your ride and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
From the marina, we glide along the beautifully lit beachfront promenade, adorned with majestic palm trees and wide, comfortable sidewalks. The evening breeze and the soothing sound of the waves make this part of the tour unforgettable.
Passing through the lively Kallithea area and the bustling New Town, you’ll experience the vibrant energy of Rethymno at night. The locals fill the cafés and restaurants, while the city lights create a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere.

We take a break at a traditional tavern in the heart of the Old Town, where you can enjoy a glass of authentic raki, a signature Cretan spirit that reflects the local hospitality. For those who prefer something different or for younger participants, refreshing soft drinks are available.
The tour continues with a visit to the iconic Rimondi Fountain. Lit up at night, the fountain showcases its architectural beauty. According to legend, anyone who drinks from the fountain is destined to return to Rethymno.
We head to the iconic Fortezza Fortress, standing proudly as a symbol of Rethymno’s Venetian history. Under the night sky, the fortress offers panoramic views of the illuminated city and the endless sea, creating an awe-inspiring moment.
Our tour concludes with a ride along Arkadiou Street, Rethymno’s famous "Shopping Street." As you glide through, you’ll see people shopping at traditional stores on both sides of the street, smiling and enjoying the lively atmosphere. The lit-up shops, local crafts, and small souvenirs add a unique charm to your experience.
After Arkadiou, we head toward the Unknown Soldier Square, where the illuminated surroundings and the square’s historical significance provide a beautiful finale to the tour. Finally, we return to our office, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Rethymno’s sunset and nighttime charm.
Absolutely! All participants are provided with helmets and reflective safety vests for maximum safety. Our experienced guides ensure your safety throughout the tour. After a short period of familiarization and riding, operating the Segway feels completely natural and intuitive.
No prior experience is required! Before the tour starts, we provide a quick 2-minute training session to help you feel comfortable and confident with the Segway.
Participants must weigh between 25 kg and 100 kg. There is no strict age limit, but children under 7 years old can only join by riding on the same Segway with a parent or guide. For safety reasons, the Segwaytour is not recommended for pregant women.
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe flat shoes are recommended. Avoid high heels or sandals to ensure balance and stability while riding the Segway.
The tour takes three hours. It starts every hour from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at our office and ends at the same location. You should arrive at our office 15 minutes before starting the tour.
If weather conditions are unsuitable (e.g., heavy rain or strong winds), we will contact you to reschedule the tour or offer a full refund.
Absolutely! During the tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture photos and videos of the breathtaking landscapes and iconic landmarks of Rethymno.
To ensure a personalized experience, group sizes are kept small, typically ranging from 1 to 8 participants. This allows our guide to provide attention to everyone and create a relaxed atmosphere.
