Lake Kournas-Argyroupoli

Come along on this trip to the West side of Rethymno.

Around 10:00 AM we start our trip before reaching the first destination.

First Stop: Argyroupoli . We take an hour exploration of the water springs of this place giving you a feeling of calmness while enjoying the sound of the flowing waters everywhere coming from the mountains. You can also enjoy a stroll in this charming village surrounded by small waterfalls .  

Second Stop: Local Oil Mill . To see how our famous olive oil is produced in Crete with meticulous care throughout the production. Crete is known to have one of the best olive oils in the world. The best olive oils provide important health benefits and outstanding flavor.

Last Stop: Kournas Lake . We stop here for 2.5 hours to have enough time to swim in the fresh water lake and eat at the many tavernas around the beautiful lake surrounded by greenery and tall mountains, or rent a pedal boat or kayak for more fun exploring the fresh water seeing ducks, fishes and turtles. There are also souvenir shops around.

You will be back in Rethymno around 5:30 PM.
